Persian Diaspora Connect is a labor of love created for the purpose of connecting the global Persian speaking diaspora in community to celebrate, honor, and learn about their cultural heritage and traditions. Our goal is to be a community centered Persian language and cultural program for the diaspora & friends!
About the Founder
Samira has a degree in Cultural Anthropology and Iranian Studies from UCLA and is currently wrapping up her last semester in an M.A. program for Anthropology. Her academic interests include ancient Iranian mythology, culture of the global Iranian diaspora, and the experiences of queer/LGBT Iranian women.
As a second generation Iranian American woman, she has experienced first hand the lack of available resources for learning the Persian language and fostering meaningful relationships with other members of the Iranian diaspora. PDC first and foremost will create opportunities for young people in the diaspora to connect and build cherished relationships through a shared interest in learning about their heritage.
We hope to connect with you at one of our upcoming events or in the online Persian courses. Our goal is to build a strong and dedicated community of young Iranians in the global diaspora.
